NYC is the greatest city on the planet. Admittedly, I haven’t really been to every city in the world, but I have been to my share and so far I’ve never been to one that offers everything NYC does.
I am a night owl so one of the things I really love about New York is how it is the “city that never sleeps.” At any time of night you can find something cool still going on (if you go to the right areas.) Traditionally a low-income immigrant neighbourhood, the Lower East Side of Manhattan New York has become a very different place than it used to be and is today home to a mixture of upscala boutiques and down to earth bars. Due to the rapid gentrification in recent years, the National Trust for Historic Preservation has actually placed the neighbourhood on their list of America’s Most Endangered Places. If you want to get a glimpse of what the area used to be before it is all boutiques and french cafes you should try to visit as soon as possible. (more…)
