Advice For Train Travel In Europe

Travelling around Europe by train is a great way to see the continent. Not only can you get to almost all of the popular locations by train but there are many other places which are off the beaten track which you can get to as well. Here are a few tips to help you get the most out of such a trip.

- One of the most important choices you will need to make is in regards to the type of train ticket to buy. If you are going to buy a new ticket every time you get on a train, then it might end up costing you a fortune. A much better idea is to buy a Europass which will allow you to travel around for as many days as the pass is good for.

- But if you don’t plan on spending a lot of time on the train or taking multiple journeys then it might not offer you the best value for money. The best advice is to do a cost-benefit analysis and then decide which option makes the most sense.

- When you are planning your trip it is very tempting to be overambitious. You may not find that travelling around by train is as fun as you thought it was going to be especially if you are planning to take a long journey every other day or so; sometimes is sounds easier than it is in reality. Taking time out for exploration and relaxation will be worthwhile although it is understandable that you might want to try and fit in as much as you can in one trip.

- Travelling during the night on a sleeper train might make more sense because you can actually get your travelling done while you sleep and then you are up bright and fresh and ready to tackle your new location. However these sleeper cabins do tend to get full very quickly so it is a good idea to book them in advance.

- As long as you are prepared to adapt to any changes that might occur, you can really enjoy a trip like this.

It is a lot of fun getting an English ferry (ferry angleterre) when visiting England. Quite often though, people enjoy using the Channel Tunnel (tunnel sous la manche). If you want to stay in England (sejour angleterre), these are the best ways to go.
